Arrests in the slaying of “General Hospital” actor Johnny Wactor could come as soon as Thursday, the Los Angeles Times reports.
Law enforcement officials told the Times that the “investigation is focusing on Florencia 13 gang members tied to catalytic converter thefts in the region.”
TMZ reports that search warrants have already been served in South Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles Police Department declined to confirm any information on the record when contacted by KTLA.
“We understand the interest in the Johnny Wactor murder,” police said in a statement. “We are working tirelessly on the case. Due to the ongoing nature of of this investigation we are not releasing additional information at this time.”
Wactor was shot and killed on May 25 when he returned to his car in downtown L.A. to find that three men were attempting to steal his catalytic converter.
The actor, who also appeared on shows like “Westworld” and “NCIS,” would’ve turned 38 later this month, his mother said Tuesday.
“Grief is my constant companion,” she said.
