April 4 is National Ramen Day and Yelp has revealed a list of the top 100 ramen spots in California for diners to celebrate appropriately.
The majority of locations are located in the state’s two major urban centers, Los Angeles and the Bay Area, with other locations throughout the Central Valley and Central Coast, as well as a few places near Sacramento and San Diego.
The two major urban centers also dominate the list’s top ten places, although a business from San Diego and another from Folsom made the ranking.
Here are the Top 10 ramen spots in California, according to Yelp:
- Susuru Ramen Bar – Los Angeles
- GONZO! – Carlsbad
- RamenKoko – Highland
- HiroNori Craft Ramen – San Diego
- Ramen Hajime – Santa Clara
- Sen Noodle House – Santa Clarita
- Taishoken San Francisco – San Francisco
- Moto Ramen – Culver City
- Umami Ramen – Folsom
- Umigame Japanese Kitchen – Los Angeles
Yelp said the list was curated by identifying the ramen businesses that had a large concentration of reviews that included relevant keywords and considering other factors such as the total volume of reviews and the ratings that also included keywords.
For businesses with multiple locations, only the highest-rated location was included.
According to Yelp, all restaurants were marked open as of March 1 and, when the information was available, had a passing health score as of the same date.
