Police are searching for the driver of a vehicle that crashed and started a small brush fire in Malibu early Saturday morning.
According to preliminary information later confirmed by CHP, the crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Stunt Road about four miles south of Mulholland Highway.
A single vehicle – said to be a Dodge Charger – appeared to have lost control and careened into the mountainside before catching fire.
Flames from the burning car spread to nearby brush, and video from the scene obtained by KTLA shows fire crews extinguishing the blaze while officers search the area for clues.
Firefighters were able to put the fire out quickly before it got out of control, authorities confirmed.
The driver of the car fled the scene and has not been identified.
