The creeps are coming back to the Inland Empire for an aftermath of horror that’s combining monsters, pop culture and high flying luchadores in Ontario.
Tickets are now on sale for the second annual Creep I.E. Aftermath at the Ontario Convention Center. The event is expected to draw more than 10,000 fans of horror for three days of terror Sept. 20-22.
“It’s not a smaller event, it’s a full-scale convention but the twist is we incorporate pop culture into it. So we not only have what we’re known for, which is horror, but we also focus on pop culture, which could be anything from sci-fi to comic books to wrestling and so forth,” said event organizer Brian Boget.
Creep I.E. Aftermath, the sister event to the annual Creep I.E. Con, will include celebrity guests, cast reunions, a haunt attraction, live music, panels and even a Lucha Libre wrestling competition.
More celebrity guests are expected to be announced later this summer, but so far for now the list includes an “E.T.” cast reunion with Henry Thomas, Dee Wallace, Robert MacNaughton and Matthew DeMeritt. For TV buffs, the original “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” Kristy Swanson, who has also appeared in films such as “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” and “Pretty In Pink,” will also make an appearance.
Other celebrity guests include Patricia Velasquez from “The Mummy” and “The Mummy Returns,” and attendees can also expect to see perhaps the world’s worst fictional fiancé, Billy Zane of “Titanic,” “The Phantom” “Tombstone,” and “Demon Knight.”
“We’re becoming known for our cast reunions at this event and we’re really excited and we have a lot more celebrities to announce this summer,” Boget said.
And bring some dough because there will be more than 175 vendors selling all sorts of horror and pop-culture themed items in the always packed hall.
People should also bring a pocket full of courage too because they’ll be terrorized as they walk through the Fear Farm Haunt immersive haunt experience. Those who survive the haunt can head to a dead man’s party outside the Convention Center for the Aftermath Afterparty, which will include live music from cover bands including the Red Hot Cholo Peppers and A Nightmare on 80’s Street as well as the official Creep I.E. Cosplay Contest, food trucks and a DJ set.
“What we pride ourselves with Aftermath is making it not just a horror convention but a horror and pop culture festival,” Boget said.
