Rock and Roll Hall-of-Famer Slash has released a new album that celebrates the sights and frights of Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood.
The 11-song album, available exclusively on vinyl, features the original music composed by the famed Guns N’ Roses guitarist over the last six years for the theme park’s “Universal Monsters” haunted house.
“SLASH Music Of Universal Studios Hollywood – Halloween Horror Nights” will be available for purchase exclusively at the park now through Nov. 3. Additionally, 300 alternate color vinyls have been signed by Slash himself and placed in stores throughout the park until they are sold out.
The album features artwork of beloved Universal monsters by artist Crash McCreery and the cover itself was created by Brian Beauregard, an executive creative director for Universal Parks and Resort merchandise.
In a news release issued Thursday, Slash described himself as a longtime fan of Halloween Horror Nights and said he jumped at the chance to collaborate with Universal Studios Hollywood to produce the soundtrack for one of its haunted houses.
“Similar to the way music affects a film, I composed this score for the legions of infamous characters in these haunted houses to elicit a sense of emotional terror,” said Slash — real name Saul Hudson.
This year’s haunted house, “Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines,” features an all-female cast of monsters, including Bride of Frankenstein, Dracula’s Daughter, She-Wolf of London and the undead Egyptian princess Anck-Su-Namun from the “Mummy” franchise.
The new experience features an all-new storyline as guests find themselves in the “center of the ultimate battle between two unexpected alliances of classic female Universal Monsters.” The haunted house takes brave souls on a journey between the “hunted and the hunters in a life and death battle,” Universal officials said.
The Universal Monsters haunted house will be located at Sound Stage 12 on the studio backlot, the original filming location for some of the world’s most iconic horror movies, including 1931’s “Dracula” and “Frankenstein” films and “The Bride of Frankenstein” from 1935.
The scary soundtrack of this and past haunted houses courtesy of Slash is available now as a precursor to Halloween itself.
