Man sits on rooftop allegedly with shotgun
A man is sitting on a rooftop allegedly with a shotgun, drawing active-shooter concerns.
LOS ANGELES COUNTY, Calif. – The sight of a man standing on a rooftop, possibly armed with a shotgun, prompted an active-shooter scare in the southeast corner of Los Angeles County.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call near the intersection of South Cahita Avenue and East Rosecrans Avenue just outside of Compton on Thursday night. SkyFOX captured the moment where the man was sitting down atop a roof a little after 8:30 p.m. on June 13.
LASD confirmed later in the night that a deputy-involved shooting took place but did not specify if it was a deputy, the alleged shotgun-carrying man, or a bystander did the shooting.
Homes near the area were briefly ordered to evacuate as authorities initially feared he may have been shooting at random.
Officials have not released the identity of the suspect.
As of 10 p.m., there’s no word on what ended up happening to the alleged shotgun-carrying man. It is also unknown if bystanders were hurt in Thursday’s shooting scare.
