Initially marketed as a four-week summer promotion, McDonald’s plans to continue its $5 meal deal for the remainder of the year.
According to the company, most markets will run the deal until December.
Since June 25, customers nationwide could have their choice of a McDouble or McChicken sandwich, small fries, four-piece Chicken McNuggets and a small soft drink – all for just $5 or $6.

McDonald’s introduced the deal after customers complained about its rising menu prices on social media.
The burger chain has offers for app users, including 50-cent Double Cheeseburgers for National Cheeseburger Day and Free Fries on Fridays, which will continue through the end of 2024.
Local markets will also have deals. For example, Southern California residents can get a two for $3.99 choice of Chicken or Sausage McGriddle, Sausage Biscuit or any size iced coffee.
Other fast-food chains have also offered value meal deals to attract more customers amid higher dining-out costs.
