Areas within Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks have reopened to the public after being closed for over a year due to flooding from the 2022- 2023 winter season, the National Park Service announced.
Cedar Grove, a visiting center, wilderness areas, and a permit station were reopened to the public on Monday.
The area’s reopening will happen In phases, with the Cedar Grove Market reopening on June 15 and Cedar Grove Lodge, Grill, Showers and Laundry services reopening on June 21.
“The Sentinel Campground is projected to open no earlier than July 1, as crews address maintenance issues from the storms. Other campgrounds in Cedar Grove are not expected to open this year. Campground reservations will open once a firm opening date is set,” a news release said.
