The pilot of a single-engine plane was airlifted to a trauma center after a fiery crash in Ventura County on Sunday.
According to the Ventura County Fire Department, the crash was reported at 12:24 p.m., east of the Santa Paula Airport.
The amount of people inside the plane at the time is unknown, though the pilot was critically injured, authorities said. They required an airlift to a nearby trauma center.
The identity of the pilot remained unknown as of Sunday afternoon. The cause of the crash is unclear, though pictures of the scene showed a mangled plane with ash from a fire on the ground.
