Three Los Angeles men are behind bars after they allegedly robbed at gunpoint a pharmacy in Riverside in June, making off with cash, drugs and property of the store’s employees.
The morning of June 19, three men wearing masks and gloves entered the pharmacy in the 6700 block of Indiana Avenue, the Riverside Police Department said in a news release.
Using the threat of a handgun carried by one of the robbers, the culprits “personal property from the five employees, along with prescription drugs and money from the pharmacy, before fleeing in a dark colored vehicle,” the release said.
It was the license plate of that vehicle that investigators said led them to Shawn Andre Bias, 28, who was pulled over and arrested by the California Highway Patrol June 22 on the 91 Freeway near the 15 Freeway.
On July 2, police served search warrants at three Los Angeles locations looking for two other suspected robbers: Kyle Jahlil Johnson and Michael Scott McCain, both 22.
Johnson was located and arrested, while McCain, who was not home at the time of the raid, turned himself in the next day, police said.
During those searches, investigators also found “evidence linking these suspects to the armed robbery,” the release said.
All three faces charges of armed robbery, attempted armed robbery, kidnapping to commit armed robbery, false imprisonment, assault with a deadly weapon, burglary and conspiracy, and they were booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center. They’re each being held in lieu of $1 million bail and are due to appear at the Riverside Hall of Justice on Aug. 26.
