A 58-year-old man from Riverside County has been arrested and booked for murder in connection with the fatal shooting of a woman earlier this week.
Authorities with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 25000 block of Highway 74 on June 8 around10 p.m. to an unincorporated area of the county known as Good Hope on reports of a victim suffering from a gunshot wound, according to a RCSD news release.
Deputies located a 56-year-old female victim, later identified as Kimberly Dunlap, a resident of Good Hope, who despite lifesaving measures was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives from RCSD’s Centeral Homicide Unit assumed the investigation and, a day later, identified and arrested a male suspect and resident of Good Hope named William Dunlap.
Investigators have not released a motive in the deadly shooting, nor have they provided any information on the nature of the victim’s and the suspect’s relationship.
William Dunlap was booked at the Cois Byrd Detention Center where he remains in custody, authorities said.
An investigation into this incident is ongoing and officials encourage anyone with additional information on the case to contact Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s Investigator Manjarrez with the Central Homicide Unit at 951-955-2777 or Investigator Barbee at RCSD’s Perris Station at 951-210-1000.
