Morning clouds will keep things mild near the coast this week but we are expecting an increase in afternoon temperatures for most of Southern California.
The marine layer will be thick enough Tuesday morning that drizzle is possible near the coast, especially south of Point Conception.
“A little bit of that May gray during the morning hours and then we’ll get to our sunshine and a little bit of a warmup,” KTLA Meteorologist Henry DiCarlo said.
The biggest temperature increase will be seen the further we move inland.
“99 in Blythe and Laughlin, so we do know we have some warmer weather out toward the Four Corners,” Henry said.
The afternoon high for downtown Los Angeles on Monday topped out at 70 degrees, exactly where we should end up on Tuesday.
The average high for Monday was 74 degrees with a record 98 degrees set back in 1927.
Currently, the 7-Day Forecast is showing an increase in clouds this weekend but only a slight chance of showers.
