A bicyclist died after a car hit him then another four to five other vehicles struck him in Northridge on Thursday night, Sept. 19, police said.
None of the drivers stopped, Officer Jeff Lee, a spokesman for LAPD, said.
The hit-and-run was reported to police around 9:20 p.m. A vehicle heading north on Lindley Avenue, approaching Napa Street, struck the bicyclist and fled, Lee said.
About four to five other vehicles then drove over the victim, he added.
The bicyclist, who Lee described as a man in his 50s, died at the scene.
Police had no descriptions of the drivers or the vehicles.
