A husky is on the mend Thursday after being shot in the Central-Alameda neighborhood of Los Angeles.
The incident was reported around 10 p.m. Wednesday in the 1100 block of East 33rd Street.
A husky known by area residents as the “33rd Street Husky” was shot by either a .22 or a pellet gun, freelance media firm KNN reported.
Witnesses said the suspect shot at the dog from a sedan.
Residents told KNN the dog is fed and cared for by neighbors on the street.
Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to the location and requested assistance from animal services.
A good Samaritan was seen helping officers corral the Husky until help could arrive.
